Overview
The Craftperson A - Rotating Equipment position involves installing, inspecting, and maintaining rotating equipment within the refinery. Valero is a leading employer in the fuels manufacturing and marketing industry, known for its caring culture and commitment to employee growth.
Responsibilities
- Installs, inspects, and maintains rotating equipment within the refinery.
- Inspects, troubleshoots and performs maintenance on rotating equipment.
- Adjusts and aligns machinery and equipment.
- Uses hand and power tools to complete assigned work tasks.
- Reads and interprets schematics and drawings.
- Sets up, prepares, and inspects the work site.
- Demonstrates knowledge of basic physical and mechanical principles and craft math.
- Understands bearings, seals, compressors, pumps and cylinders, valve and pipe configurations, shaft packing, and drive systems.
- Understands characteristics of metals and is knowledgeable about the various types and applications of lubricants.
- Follows guidelines and procedures to ensure that rotating equipment is working in a safe and reliable manner.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- A minimum of 5 years of Rotating Equipment or related experience required.
- Experience as a machinist, millwright, or pump mechanic is acceptable.
- Able and willing to work on-site and in-person.
- Must be eligible to obtain a TWIC card.
Additional Information
- This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.
- The hourly rate for this position is $55.78.
- Valero's Wilmington Refinery was commissioned in 1969 and has undergone several expansions and upgrades.
