Overview
The Aerospace Corporation is a trusted partner to the nation’s space programs, providing technical expertise across various aspects of space. They are seeking a Structural Engineer/Sr. Structural Engineer (Metallics) to evaluate launch vehicle structures in support of National Security Space missions.
Responsibilities
- Provide systems engineering for launch vehicle structures.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams for compliance with Space Force requirements.
- Lead collaborative efforts between Space Force and launch vehicle providers.
- Provide technical advice to mitigate risks associated with launch vehicle structures.
- Communicate technical activities and progress through reports and briefings.
- Build and maintain relationships with Aerospace team, Space Force, and contractors.
- Develop resource allocation plans and schedules with management.
Requirements
- B.S in mechanical engineering/structural mechanics or related field.
- 8 or more years of applicable experience with increasing responsibility.
- Familiarity with systems engineering and/or technical project management.
- Experience with launch vehicle structures systems design, development, test, and operations.
- Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary technical efforts.
- Extensive knowledge of structures systems engineering standards.
- Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
- 12 or more years of experience for Senior Project Engineer role.
- Track record of effective interfacing with senior management and contractors.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and provide technical recommendations.
