Overview

The Senior Structural / Civil Engineer position involves engineering and designing projects to support the Capital and Operations & Maintenance budgets of Facilities, including various Service Centers and Commercial Buildings. The role requires a strong technical background in civil/structural engineering and collaboration with both in-house and consulting engineers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and/or direct the preparation of design packages including specifications and drawings.
• Review contractor shop drawings.
• Perform cost benefit analysis and conduct conceptual studies to determine the best designs.
• Prepare or direct the preparation of budgets and appropriation requests for specific projects.
• Involved with facility project design and operational & maintenance support.
• Conduct root cause investigation of incidents and system inspections.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in civil/structural engineering.
• Proven record of civil/structural engineering accomplishments.
• Strong technical knowledge in the design of steel, concrete, and masonry structures.
• Knowledge of applicable codes such as AISC, ACI, ASCE, and NYC Building Code.
• Ability to work directly with in-house designers and out-of-house consulting engineers.
• Bachelor's Degree required.
