Overview

We are seeking a Precision Measurement Technician (2nd Shift) to join our federal team at our York, PA location in support of Navy Systems. The role involves performing non-destructive examinations, operating coordinate measuring machines, and ensuring quality control in manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Qualify in and perform dye penetrant tests and magnetic particle tests.
• Set up, program, and operate the coordinate measuring machine.
• Adjust, calibrate, certify, and date instruments.
• Check, audit, measure, record, repair, and calibrate precision gauges and measuring devices.
• Investigate tooling, fixtures, production operations, and instrument calibration.
• Perform checks and tests on startup procedures and detect malfunctions.
• Communicate audit findings to relevant parties.
• Make surface plate and optical comparator setups and hardness tests.
• Use precision measuring tooling, gauges, and test equipment.
• Maintain surveillance over machines and audit parts for machining.
• Make audit checks of castings, gears, and cleanliness.
• Follow non-conforming material procedures and make recommendations.
• Prepare purchase order requisitions for approval.
• Generate documents for operators to assist in quality verification.
• Develop continuous improvement efforts and guide problem-solving teams.

Requirements

• Considerable judgment to set up nondestructive test limitations.
• Moderate physical effort working with light to average weight materials.
• Concentrated mental and visual attention for dimensional checks.
• Analytical ability related to Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Good working conditions with exposure to shop noises and fumes.
• Use shop mathematics and work from prints, tables, and specifications.
• Over 3 - 4 years of industry (Manufacturing) experience preferred.
• Knowledge of shop practices, machine operation, and inspection methods preferred.
