Overview

The Structural Engineer position involves performing engineering tasks for projects of varying complexity under the guidance of a Senior Engineer. Responsibilities include coordinating with various design disciplines, preparing structural documents, and conducting quality control reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Perform or support all structural engineering efforts for design-build projects from initial client contact to construction completion.
  • Coordinate structural design with architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and other design disciplines.
  • Prepare Structural Narratives, Schematic Designs, and Construction Documents.
  • Create 2D and 3D structural analysis models.
  • Utilize Revit for detailed models and drawings.
  • Conduct Construction Administration duties including design review and site visits.
  • Evaluate out-of-specification work and develop remediation strategies.
  • Perform design assist and value engineering reviews of structural systems.
  • Assess existing and proposed structures for temporary loads and conditions.
  • Prepare analysis, calculations, details, plans, drawings, quantities, specifications, and reports.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of documentation prepared by other engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • 5-10 years of engineering and design experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Professional Engineering Licensure within 6 months of hire.
  • Experience with IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, and similar industry specifications.
  • Expertise in multi-story reinforced concrete and/or structural steel frames.
  • Experience with various materials including reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete, and steel.
  • Experience designing multifamily commercial, federal, healthcare, and other structures.
  • Strong engineering judgment and reasoning skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple project teams.
  • Innovative and service-oriented attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
