Responsibilities
- Comply with all quality system requirements and specifications.
- Comply with all safety system requirements and wear proper PPE and uniforms.
- Perform tasks in a safe, responsible, and efficient manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow oral instructions to perform necessary processes.
- Conduct equipment inspections for proper operation and mechanical integrity.
- Maintain all assigned or department equipment according to procedures.
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine operations.
- Identify and locate required materials and parts for assigned jobs.
- Maintain and document proper material tracking throughout the project.
- Maintain correct time keeping throughout the project using project management software.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Weld products according to customer specifications using various welding procedures.
- Properly setup and safely operate assigned equipment.
- Examine and feel surface of workpiece for defects.
- Move grinder over surface of workpiece to remove scratches and imperfections.
- Polish ground areas with finer abrasive to produce a smooth surface.
- Select grade of abrasive belt, wheel, or disk according to specifications.
- Prepare overall product aesthetics for final inspection.
- Assist in other areas of the facility as needed or assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 1 year in fabricating or successful completion of a certified welding program.
- Fabrication skills including Stainless TIG and MIG, Aluminum TIG and MIG, and/or Steel TIG and MIG procedures.
- Ability to learn and comply with necessary safety techniques and terminology.
- Ability to learn and comply with basic manufacturing processes, concepts, and procedures.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to read, interpret, evaluate, and respond to procedures, specifications, drawings, and requirements.
- Understand basic mathematical principles and knowledge of measurement processes.
- Read and operate a tape measure and caliper.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Solid work ethic and pride in workmanship.
- Effective verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Adequate fabrication and finishing skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Basic computer skills.
