Overview
Archaea Energy, a bp company, is a leader in landfill gas to energy and the largest renewable natural gas producer in the US. The Field Service Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing mechanical, electrical, electronic, and instrumentation work in the installation, commissioning, repair, and maintenance of Archaea plant equipment.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the plant operations team in troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment.
- Repair, replace, and adjust malfunctioning equipment to restore proper operating conditions.
- Responsible for general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed.
- Test and calibrate equipment such as pressure and temperature transmitters and other process control equipment.
- Record equipment readings and take corrective action for abnormal readings and alarms.
- Perform equipment inspections to ensure safety and operability.
- Calibrate electronic instrumentation and maintain test equipment calibration records.
- Assist in tracking spare parts inventory and report deficiencies for restock.
- Assist with electrical control system designs and modifications when requested.
- Follow control system techniques and best practices.
- Assist with new plant start-up testing.
- Maintain knowledge of latest codes, standards, and best practices for electrical safety.
- Assist with PLC programming for various processes and control systems.
- Oversee procurement of major control systems components if requested.
- Perform pre-delivery inspections and tests at supplier facilities.
- Observe operation of installed equipment to detect hazards and service needs.
- Assist other maintenance team members in repairs and downtime events.
Requirements
- Graduation from high school (or GED) and three years related mechanical work experience.
- Vocational training or military service preferred.
- 1-3 years' experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting, preferably Allen Bradley or GE.
- 1-3 years' experience working with and troubleshooting VFD motor controls and basic process control equipment.
- 1-3 years' experience with natural gas or LFG fueled engines in power generation or gas compression applications.
- Strong communication, CMMS, and computer skills.
- Ability to work with hand tools and various shop equipment.
- Good people skills and ability to work through conflict.
- High regard for safety standards and experience with LOTO and other safety programs.
- Proficient in reading and understanding prints/schematics.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

Additional Information
- Work shift is 10 hours per day, 4 days per week.
- Up to 50% travel should be expected.
- This role is not eligible for relocation.
- This position is not available for remote working.
