Overview

The Maintenance Millwright position requires basic knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics, focusing on the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of these systems. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to company policies while performing various maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Performs basic mechanical repairs such as replacing sheaves, belts, chains, and sprockets.
  • Assists in the repair and rebuild of pneumatic and hydraulic systems and other components.
  • Uses stick welder and oxygen/acetylene cutting rig safely.
  • Fabrics fixtures, platforms, and components.
  • Welds and cuts according to specifications and instructions.
  • Reads and interprets schematics of complex systems.
  • Identifies and corrects problems in a preventative manner.
  • Uses maintenance shop tools and hand tools effectively.
  • Machines or assists in machining simple components.
  • Completes assignments promptly with limited assistance.
  • Maintains excellent housekeeping practices.
  • Operates cranes, manlifts, and forklifts as needed.
  • Responds to calls in a timely manner and completes assignments with high quality.
  • Exhibits a positive attitude and supports company success.
  • Follows company policies, procedures, and safety rules.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum one year of professional maintenance experience or completion of an accredited technical school maintenance program.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effective communication skills for preventative maintenance.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to comprehend mechanical prints and schematics.
  • Problem-solving skills in standardized situations.
