Overview

The Lead Specialty Instrument Fitter supports the fabrication and assembly of products and parts within ATS Technical Services Group, primarily in Houston and offsite locations. This role involves adhering to project management plans, ensuring quality checks, and collaborating with team members to improve processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support Quality Assurance plan and follow Quality Check Points.
  • Provide feedback with schedule, lessons learned, risk, and assembly plans.
  • Collaborate with team to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Professionally communicate with coworkers and partners.
  • Collaborate on generating Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
  • Proactively follow 5S in both Houston Shop and outside.
  • Understand how to read and interpret schematics.
  • Inventory materials, tooling, and components prior to project kickoff.
  • Bend assigned number of lines per day.
  • Follow schematic notes to bend and assemble a qualitative product.
  • Aid in generating tool and material lists for projects.
  • Gather tooling per the tooling kickoff list.
  • Monitor calibration and maintenance plans for machines.
  • Complete MRB documentation during project progress.
  • Accurately complete labor tickets and expenses.
  • Use crane to move components.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Assist welders with welding.
  • Support monitoring and execution of projects.
  • Assist with reviewing and managing Non-Destructive Examination (NDE).
  • Drill on frames and fabricate brackets.
  • Pickle and passivate tubing.
  • Complete Final Inspection Document.
  • Provide part numbers for components needed.
  • Communicate with all levels of management, engineering, and clients.
  • Perform tasks including operation of cranes and forklifts.
  • Meet assigned project timelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
