Job Description

Overview

Now hiring Full-Time Marine General Laborer/Helper with at least 6+ months of shipyard experience to work at the Pensacola Marina. The role involves performing a wide range of manual and support tasks throughout the shipyard, focusing on yard operations and assisting tradespeople.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain vessels, modules, and work areas.
  • Sweep, shovel, and pick up the shipyard grounds and walkways.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and foreign object debris control.
  • Clean and organize tool rooms and storage areas.
  • Move, stage, and organize steel and equipment to support production.
  • Load and unload material from trucks and trailers.
  • Assist riggers and crane operators with loads.
  • Pull welding leads and ensure necessary tools are on site.
  • Assist shipfitters and welders with measurements and positioning.
  • Place tacks on structural components awaiting welding when qualified.
  • Provide general support wherever production needs assistance.
  • Follow all safety rules and report unsafe conditions.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Able to perform physical demands with or without accommodation.
  • Willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Prior shipyard, construction, or industrial experience is a plus.
  • Must comply with all OSHA and safety policies.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and physical agility assessment.
  • Participate in random quarterly drug tests.

Additional Information

  • Typical working hours are 40 hours per week.
  • Overtime is typically available but not mandatory.
  • Work schedule is Monday to Thursday from 7:30am to 4pm and Friday from 7:30am to 3pm.
  • A 10-minute paid morning break is taken at 9:30am daily.
  • A 30-minute unpaid lunch break is provided daily.
