Overview
The Maintenance Technician position in Auburn, IN involves installing and maintaining machinery and equipment with minimal supervision. The role requires proficiency in using various tools and interpreting technical drawings, along with participation in the Plant's Emergency Response Team.
Responsibilities
- Install machinery, equipment, and related systems with minimal supervision.
- Use hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic instruments proficiently.
- Be familiar with machine shop equipment and use it with a reasonable level of skill.
- Read and accurately interpret hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical prints and drawings.
- Use arc welder and oxygen-acetylene torch.
- Layout and construct jigs and fixtures for production operations.
- Maintain all machinery, equipment, and building components according to manufacturers' specifications.
- Participate on the Plant's Emergency Response Team.
- Wear required PPE, including a respirator or SCBA for chemical cleanup.
- Install and maintain feeder and branch circuit wiring including single and three-phase systems.
- Handle Programmable Logic Controllers, including hand wiring and modifying programs.
- Layout and install conduit systems for wiring in accordance with National Electrical Code.
- Know and apply the requirements of the National Electrical Code.
- Have thorough knowledge of electronic devices such as flow meters, encoders, and sensors.
- Monitor and maintain plant service equipment including HVAC systems and air compressors.
Requirements
- Knowledge of PLC, preferably Allen Bradley, and hard wiring.
- Must qualify for 24-hour Hazmat Team through training.
- Ability to work with high voltages and around moving equipment.
- Ability to lift 60 lbs., bend, twist, climb, crawl, and work at heights.
- Communicate in English.
- Attention to detail and good math skills required.
- Minimum 4 years experience as a maintenance millwright and electrician.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Journeyman card preferred.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Two-year technical degree preferred.
