Overview

You will serve as a PIPE FITTER in the U & E MECHANICAL DISTRIBUTION of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC, executing utility outages and performing maintenance on various utility systems.

Responsibilities

• Execute and restore scheduled utility outages by operating valves and placing/removing hazardous energy control tags for steam, water, wastewater, and natural gas systems.
• Respond to trouble calls, isolate system emergencies, set up bypass pumps, and reroute utility services.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and execute minor repairs on utility system equipment, including replacing valves, steam traps, and pumps.
• Provide shore-to-ship utility services by connecting, maintaining, and replacing critical service hoses.
• Work independently on a 24/7 rotating shift, conducting shift turnovers and documenting system data in station logs.
