Overview
As a Welder at Phillips 66, you will be part of a maintenance team responsible for the fabrication and repair of piping, structures, and pressure vessels. This position requires working primarily during the day but may involve mandatory shift work, call outs, and overtime.
Responsibilities
- Use hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components.
- Read a Weld Procedure Specification (WPS) to produce a weld according to the requirements.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Fabricate and construct piping segments and attach fittings.
- Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt component parts for welding.
- Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment using various welding processes.
- Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating or distortion.
- Examine work pieces for defects and measure them to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Read Drawings; Isometric, Piping, and Structural.
Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must maintain a valid Driver’s License.
- Working knowledge of welding equipment.
- Willingness and ability to work extended hours and call-outs as needed.
- Experience with confined space welding using a respirator.
