Overview

Doka is a leading company in developing, manufacturing, and distributing formwork solutions for the construction sector, employing over 8,500 people in more than 70 countries. The Welder will report to the Yard Manager and assist the Branch Operations Manager, focusing on hands-on tasks to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency in the yard.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand fabrication drawings.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely.
  • Maintain a valid welding certification.
  • Ensure equipment is properly placed and stored.
  • Assist in maintaining an organized and efficient yard.
  • Work productively as a team member.
  • Take responsibility for the use, maintenance, and safety of tools and equipment.
  • Comply with Doka Standards regarding quality, safety, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Participate in physical stock taking and interact with yard staff, truck drivers, and management.
  • Use approved safety equipment consistently.
  • Ask questions and ensure continual training in product knowledge.
  • Ensure proper disposal of damaged/scrap material according to company policies.
  • Comply with company cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
  • Safely perform tasks involving pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 100lbs or more with proper equipment.
  • Ensure equipment is functioning properly and stored correctly.

Requirements

  • Possess valid welding certification and experience in MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding.
  • High school graduate.
  • Previous experience in a construction or building materials yard is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (speaking, reading, writing).
  • Strong analytical skills, technical proficiency, and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Willing and able to learn new products, concepts, and techniques.
  • Collaborative and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
