Overview

Kaempf & Harris Sheet Metal is seeking an HVAC Sheet Metal Welder to fabricate, weld, and assemble components for HVAC systems. The role demands strong welding skills and the ability to read technical drawings, working primarily in fabrication shops and construction sites.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine project specifications.
  • Cut, shape, and prepare sheet metal for welding using shears, brakes, and other fabrication tools.
  • Perform welding operations (MIG, TIG, arc) to join sheet-metal components for HVAC ductwork and related assemblies.
  • Inspect welds to ensure quality, strength, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Measure and align components before welding to ensure accuracy and proper fit.
  • Fabricate custom metal components as required for HVAC systems.
  • Maintain welding equipment and tools in safe working condition.
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations, including PPE use and safe material handling.
  • Collaborate with installers and supervisors to complete HVAC fabrication projects.

Requirements

  • Certification in welding from a recognized technical school or training program.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and arc welding techniques.
  • Ability to work with precision measuring tools and fabrication equipment.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards and welding regulations.
  • Familiarity with CAD drawings and HVAC system layouts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Previous experience in metal fabrication or construction.
