Overview
PALA Interstate, LLC is seeking a Tank Welder who will lay out, fit, and weld together metal components for various products, including pipelines and tanks. The ideal candidate should be able to interpret job specifications and perform welding tasks with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Lay out, fit, and weld metal components such as pipelines, boilers, and tanks.
- Read and interpret job specifications, plans, and blueprints.
- Use basic math skills for calculations related to work.
- Weld to Section 9 of ASME Code in all positions.
- Operate air arc-gouging and burning torch.
- Use air and electric power tools for tank repair.
- Recognize proper fit up of weld joints and follow outlined welding methods.
- Exemplify proper rigging techniques.
- Understand the use of key plates and fit up equipment.
- Weld linear feet of acceptable seal pass and jet welds using specified electrodes.
- Work at elevations using vertical ladders and scaffolding.
- Perform work under breathing air conditions with a respirator.
- Work in confined spaces and operate a Man-Lift.
Requirements
- Minimum three years’ experience in welding with SMAW, GTAW, and Flux Core process.
- Must pass required welding test as required by the specific job site.
- High School or GED preferred but not required.
- Trade School program preferred but not required.
