Overview
American Hydro is a leading provider in the hydropower generation industry, specializing in the design, manufacturing, and installation of custom hydro turbines. The Welder will join, fabricate, and repair metal and other materials using various welding devices, ensuring high-quality work in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Weld complex weld geometry and fillets and related Hydro components.
- Set up jobs and equipment to run efficiently.
- Perform carbon arc gouging.
- Grind parts as needed.
- Maintain quality of work and productivity.
- Demonstrate job knowledge and initiative.
- Adhere to safety protocols.
- Maintain attendance and dependability.
- Communicate effectively with team members.
- Cooperate with supervisors and colleagues.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or three years minimum of related experience and/or training.
- Proficient in blueprint reading except geometric tolerancing.
- Fully proficient with FCAW and SMAW welding processes.
- Able to produce high-quality welds.
- Capable of operating gas cutting and air arc gouging processes.
- Able to operate jib cranes and forklifts.
