Overview

Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis LLC is a world-class supplier of power generation services, parts, and repairs, seeking a qualified Welding Operations Cell Lead to assist in production and training for industrial gas turbine components.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot technical malfunctions, and execute repairs.
  • Conduct detailed hands-on inspections on turbine structures and assist with expertise on damage and wear of parts.
  • Proactively assess degradation of turbine parts and communicate risks and findings.
  • Use diagnostic tools to evaluate current and incoming vane parts.
  • Assist in enforcing PPE initiatives and site safety protocols.
  • Maintain all related paperwork, including training records.
  • Provide on-time delivery status on all departmental projects.
  • Collaborate in performing departmental Root Cause Analysis associated with components.
  • Provide technical advice and support to employees on manufacturing processes.
  • Perform other associated departmental duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED/Apprenticeship classes or trade school.
  • Welding vocational school training or 3-5 years of experience with TIG welding.
  • At least 5-7 years of welding experience in the Gas Turbine Industry.
  • Availability to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime.
  • Full knowledge of TIG Welding procedures, practices, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with Power Generation (Turbine) equipment.
  • Well-versed with NDE techniques, such as dye penetrant testing.
  • Knowledge and ability to use hand and power tools associated with TIG welding.
  • Ability to use standard precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints and specifications.
  • Well-versed in welding in horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Strong customer service experience in discussing needed repairs.
  • Ability to lead other diaphragm welders and supervise work at customer sites.
  • Full understanding of associated mathematical arithmetic.
  • Good visual and auditory acuity.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
