Overview

A leading North American manufacturer of robotic and automated welding systems for structural steel and heavy fabrication is hiring a customer-facing Welding Engineer to be the technical face of its technology across the U.S. and internationally. This role involves turning newly commissioned welding cells into reliable, high-throughput production assets with a focus on customer interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver advanced post-commissioning training in operation, programming, parameter optimization, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Diagnose and resolve weld-quality issues on site, adjusting parameters and procedures to restore quality and throughput.
  • Build, optimize, and maintain welding databases and procedures tailored to each customer's parts mix and quality requirements.
  • Provide responsive remote and on-site support, owning issues through to resolution.
  • Create and maintain training materials and technical documentation in line with product changes.
  • Support Sales during technical reviews and assist in commissioning new robotic welding cells.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years hands-on experience operating, programming, optimizing, and maintaining robotic or automated welding systems.
  • Working knowledge of GMAW/FCAW processes applied to structural steel and heavy fabrication.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering Technology or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering technical training or presentations to operators/customers.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written) sufficient to train customers live and author technical documentation.
  • U.S. work authorization, residence within 1.5 hours of a regional airport, valid passport, and willingness to travel 40-50%.
