Overview
The Mechanic Technician/Carpenter is responsible for performing building and mechanical maintenance to ensure the proper operation of all equipment within the facility. This role includes maintaining the plumbing system and assisting with various maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate boiler plant equipment, including pipe fitting, welding, lubrication, plumbing, and cleaning.
- Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and take corrective action.
- Perform preventative maintenance checks and inspections of assigned equipment.
- Notify Supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions and quality problems.
- Assist the electrician with ensuring correct operating parameters for emergency generators.
- Call attention to any items requiring special attention.
- Assist with test runs of emergency generators under load.
- Assist the HVAC technician when needed.
- Operate water softener to maintain prescribed limits.
- Maintain proper operations and chemical balance of the swimming pool and spas.
- Perform general building maintenance including plumbing, electrical repairs, and painting.
- Maintain all electronic equipment, kitchen appliances, and laundry equipment.
- Maintain the keying system for the facility, including cutting keys and programming electronic keys.
- Prepare audio-visual equipment for use.
- Be on call periodically on a rotating basis.
- Cross train with maintenance software.
- Perform other general maintenance work as requested.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Carpentry skills preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and written specifications.
- Ability to mount, connect, and adjust components such as transformers and relays.
- Must display initiative and good judgment.
- Computer literacy preferred.
- 3 years related experience.
- Texas Driver’s License.
- Master Plumbing certification preferred.
Additional Information
- Work schedule is 5 days, 8 hours per day.
- Employment type is full time.
