At TDW, we prioritize people and work diligently to ensure the safe and reliable operation of pipelines in our communities. The Field Technician, HT&P - Trainee role involves acquiring knowledge of Hot Tapping and Plugging equipment and services through training and hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist certified technicians with handling, assembly, operation, and disassembly of TDW HT&P equipment during field operations.
  • Stay updated on equipment maintenance and operational procedures to ensure safe and proper use.
  • Comply with TDW and customer HSE standards and procedures, stopping work when unsafe conditions exist.
  • Collaborate with certified technicians on equipment shipment from the job site and draft the equipment loading list.
  • Acquire knowledge of TDW HT&P equipment functions, repairs, and services for efficient field performance.
  • Learn and apply approved safety procedures for personal safety during field work.
  • Follow standard troubleshooting procedures to solve problems encountered in the field.
  • Develop the ability to respond to customer requirements and problem-solving aspects of field work.
  • Prepare and submit expense reports according to established procedures.
  • Work in the workshop for equipment preparation, maintenance, and stock management as required.
  • Perform other tasks as required by upper management.

Requirements

  • Technical graduate with three to five years of experience in a mechanical field.
  • Experience working overseas and/or in refineries or plants is an asset.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
  • Good communication skills in English; knowledge of other languages is an asset.
