Overview

The Mechanic Helper at O'Hare Airport assists the Lead Mechanic with mechanical maintenance, diagnostics, inspections, and repairs on passenger shuttle buses. Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, adjust and repair diesel powered buses.
• Perform general installation, repair, replacement and adjustment of various bus components.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on the bus fleet and road test vehicles after work completion.
• Adhere to safe work practices and comply with applicable standards.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies for vehicle repairs.
• Keep a clean and orderly work area and maintain shop facilities.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must possess a valid, unexpired driver's license.
• High School Diploma, GED or suitable equivalent is required.
• One year of prior mechanical experience is preferred.
