Overview

As a trailer technician II at J.B. Hunt, you will perform intermediate maintenance, service, and repair on trailers and other equipment, ensuring compliance with company standards. This role involves troubleshooting issues and mentoring trainees while adhering to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficient knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment.
• Troubleshoot trailer issues and perform intermediate-level repairs to specifications.
• Assist with the onboarding and mentorship of trailer technician trainees.
• Participate in Original Equipment Manufacture training for OE repairs.
• Understand and follow all shop safety procedures.
• Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age with 2 years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes.
• Able to supply your own basic tools or purchase through the toolbox purchase program.
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements.
• Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred with 2+ years of experience.
• Basic welding skills (MIG and stick) preferred.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite preferred.
