Overview
The Lab Student Employee (Welding) position at Moraine Valley Community College offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a lab setting while assisting with various welding and administrative tasks. Responsibilities
- Perform general administrative tasks such as answering phones and filing.
- Run errands and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Support students through individualized academic assistance.
- Prepare the lab and maintain equipment.
- Assist students with basic lab procedures and equipment use.
- Demonstrate shop and welding safety knowledge.
- Weld using SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW techniques.
- Troubleshoot lab equipment and maintain tools.

Additional Information
- Work location is Main Campus.
- Position requires enrollment in 6 or more credit hours during Fall and Spring semesters.
- Maximum of 20 hours per week during Fall and Spring; 25 hours during Summer.
- Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
- Background check may be required.
