Overview

Our client is a global leader in the manufacturing space focused on innovative products supporting the steel and iron industry. They are currently seeking a highly skilled and passionate Permanent Maintenance Technician to join their dynamic team, playing a key role in maintaining manufacturing operations and ensuring optimal equipment performance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment to identify and respond to signs of malfunction.
• Perform preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance, including cleaning and servicing.
• Troubleshoot and repair any mechanical or electrical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
• Select and use the appropriate tools and equipment for each task, ensuring safety and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize production and improve manufacturing methods and procedures.
• Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to compliance regulations and safety standards.
• Document and maintain records of all inspections, maintenance, and repair work.
• Provide technical input and advice on equipment installation, modification, and upgrades.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a maintenance technician role within the manufacturing industry.
• Demonstrated technical understanding and proficiency in mechanical and electrical systems.
• Extensive knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures.
• Proven experience in equipment repair, selection, operation, and control.
• Excellent knowledge of machines, tools, and preventive maintenance practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex machinery issues.
• Basic safety knowledge and a commitment to adhering to safety protocols.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication and collaboration skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree from a vocational school or a BSc/BA in business administration or facility management will be an advantage.
• Certification from a relevant professional body will be a plus.
