Overview

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking an In-House/Field Technician in Newark, NJ, to perform a variety of skilled mechanical duties including installation, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of mechanical equipment and facilities. The company is a leading global industrial gases and engineering firm focused on providing high-quality solutions and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled mechanic duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and modify mechanical equipment and facilities.
• Use a variety of hand, power, and machine tools to perform assignments.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and systems, isolating malfunctions and performing disassembly and repairs.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment and mechanical systems.
• Safely troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all rotating equipment and associated mechanical systems.
• Plan and execute maintenance tasks and complete follow-up documentation.
• Complete repairs of mechanical piping systems including threaded and welded pipe systems.
• Document maintenance activities associated with predictive and corrective maintenance in a computerized maintenance database.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required.
• 3 - 5 years of equipment maintenance experience in a chemical manufacturing setting preferred.
• Knowledgeable in OSHA Process Safety Management Program elements including Mechanical Integrity and Management of Change.
• Understanding of welding techniques.
• Knowledge of high pressure piping systems.
• Knowledge of cryogenic pumps and systems.
• Basic understanding of electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
• Computer skills including Microsoft applications.
