Overview

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to perform routine and emergency maintenance on machinery and equipment in a manufacturing setting. The ideal candidate will be proactive in identifying potential issues, resolving mechanical problems, and ensuring all equipment is operating efficiently to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety standards and procedures while performing maintenance tasks.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubricating, cleaning, and adjusting machinery.
• Quickly diagnose and repair mechanical issues with machines, equipment, and systems.
• Assist with the installation of new equipment and machinery.
• Maintain and manage inventory of mechanical parts and tools.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
• Work with production and engineering teams to identify areas for improvement.
• Respond to emergency maintenance calls during off-hours as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or in a similar maintenance role.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, with a focus on industrial machinery.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance strategies and machinery repair best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and ability to document maintenance activities accurately.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance scheduling and record-keeping.
• Vocational or technical training in maintenance or related field.
• Certification in welding, hydraulics, or electrical systems.
• Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and control systems.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Additional Information

• This position is supporting our Elgen facility in Closter, NJ.
• The opening is on 3rd shift Monday to Friday 10pm to 6:30am.
