Overview

As a Ground Maintenance Technician (GMT) in a motorized role at Delta Air Lines, you will specialize as a vehicle/heavy equipment mechanic, repairing vehicles and a variety of airport systems and equipment. This position is crucial for maintaining Delta’s Ground Support Equipment and requires a technical degree or significant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, service, troubleshoot, repair, replace, and overhaul components like truck chassis and drive-train components.
  • Perform electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair, painting, bodywork, and technical work.
  • Complete data entry to record work assignments and connect with other company personnel as needed.
  • Repair and perform maintenance on a mix of motorized equipment as well as bodywork and other technical work.

Requirements

  • Possess a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Be at least 18 years of age and have authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be proficient in English.
  • Ability to lift items weighing between 50 and 70 pounds.
  • Willingness to work a fixed and/or rotating schedule including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must achieve a satisfactory score on entry tests structured to determine ability to perform required tasks.

Additional Information

  • External applicants hired to work at LGA airport receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus.
  • Eligible Delta employees based in New York City can be reimbursed up to $250 per month for specific transportation expenses.
