NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is a 591-bed university-affiliated medical center that provides comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic care. The position of Locksmith Mechanic involves providing locksmith services, including installation, repair, and maintenance of locking devices throughout the Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes, completes, and communicates assigned work.
• Performs key cutting and the installation, repairs, replacement, and maintenance of locking devices.
• Maintains shop equipment and utilizes supplies effectively and efficiently.
• Maintains inventory and work order records.
• Identifies potential or actual safety hazards in the work area.
• Communicates effectively with all departments and the Medical Center community.
• Provides instruction to staff members on the proper use and maintenance of locking devices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years locksmith experience in a commercial or industrial environment.
• Valid Nassau County of Consumer Affairs License.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
