Overview
The Painter position on the 2nd shift requires prior experience in a paint spraying booth, preferably in auto body shops or commercial/industrial applications. The role involves various responsibilities including computing paint mixtures, adjusting equipment, and ensuring quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Must have prior experience working in a Paint Spraying booth.
- Computes paint mixture formulas.
- Plans and programs sequence of tasks in spray paint booth.
- Moves controls to adjust paint booth furnace temperature and spray paint.
- Inspects painted surfaces for paint coverage, flow of paint, and color quality.
- Measures thickness and viscosity of paint applied to objects.
- Reviews production schedules and estimates requirements for completion of job.
- Enforces safety regulations.
- Interprets specifications and job orders to determine duties, if needed.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Suggests changes in use of equipment to increase quality and efficiency.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists co-workers in solving work problems.
- Maintains time and production records.
- Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
- Confers with supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Performs additional or other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Certificate from college or technical school; or 3-6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be highly organized and attentive to detail.
- Basic to intermediate mathematical skills needed.
- Strong verbal communication skills necessary to collaborate and respond to others and questions appropriately.
- Must observe safety and security procedures.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, company policies, etc.
- Must be a team player, able to collaborate with other departments.
