Job Description

Overview

The [UNION] Mechanic is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems at the assigned property. This role includes performing preventive and corrective maintenance while ensuring a clean and safe working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs to all mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Conduct building tours, maintain equipment loss, and report deficiencies for corrective action.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform necessary repairs on HVAC equipment as part of the preventive maintenance program.
  • Adhere to established HVAC work order preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Be proficient in the functionality of the BMS/EMS for proper building operations.
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer service requests.
  • Review, create, and maintain assigned work orders within the maintenance management system.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, and shop equipment.
  • Perform repairs to plumbing fixtures including water closets and lavatories.
  • Complete work in accordance with C&W Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintain a professional, safe, and clean environment.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives.
  • Complete all required safety training as scheduled.
  • Comply with C&W Uniform Dress Code and maintain a neat appearance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of experience in commercial or industrial facility maintenance.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; associate’s degree or vocational/technical school diploma preferred.
  • Appropriate license/permit for trade may be required.
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative and safety-conscious environment.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, accountability, and a team-first mindset.
  • Technical proficiency in troubleshooting HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Professional proficiency in executing maintenance tasks with accuracy and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work requests and projects.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Additional Information

  • Shift schedule: M–F (1–9PM)
  • May be required to work extended periods without relief during emergencies.
