Overview
Pratt & Whitney, a leader in aerospace and defense, is seeking a skilled Welder Technician for their Grand Prairie, TX facility. This role involves executing repair and restoration work on engine parts and tools in a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
- Follow detailed instructions to execute development, repair, and restoration work on engine parts and tools.
- Interpret work requirements and gather necessary equipment for routine repair and modification tasks.
- Perform TIG welding operations to fabricate or restore components according to specifications.
- Use measuring instruments to verify dimensions and record results.
- Identify the need for equipment maintenance and arrange for repairs or replacements.
- Conduct routine servicing and equipment checks following established procedures.
- Perform daily walk-around inspections of all equipment and machinery used in welding operations.
- Support process development, new tooling trials, and specialized assignments.
- Assist other trades on joint projects to support efficient workflow.
- Escalate work difficulties to the supervisor as necessary.
- Maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation to communicate findings.
- Obtain and maintain required licenses, permits, and certifications.
- Conduct visual wear and dimensional inspections as required.
- Follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Complete a welding certification test successfully.
- Comply with FAA regulations as DARO is a regulated facility.
- Progress toward CORE Associates certification.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Exhibit effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Show excellent judgment, professionalism, and interpersonal skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 1-year relevant experience.
- Three years of AC TIG welding experience, preferably in aerospace or aircraft engine component repair.
- Proficiency in welding various metal types.

Additional Information
- This position is available on the AWW (6:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Fri – Sun).
- The role is onsite, requiring commuting to the assigned site.
