Overview
Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Sub-Assembly Technician to join their global team focused on creating sustainable communities through innovation and progress. This role involves the assembly of turbomachinery products while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Perform assembly or disassembly of various stationary sub-assemblies.
- Work from standard work instructions, engineering drawings, and shop practices.
- Recognize the need for Engineering support when procedures are inadequate.
- Embrace safety culture and identify safety improvements.
- Collaborate with team members and Engineering to solve technical problems.
- Maintain training binder and records.
- Perform material routing and movement in compliance with procedures.
- Report discrepancies and incidents using standard applications.
- Maintain records and documentation per the Quality Management System.
- Use precision measuring instruments and hand tools as assigned.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
- Support production needs and continuous improvement projects.
- Participate in team meetings and adhere to team norms.
- Work required hours to meet production and customer needs.
- Demonstrate skill with precision measuring equipment.
- Operate shop and material handling equipment in an overhaul environment.
- Perform rework as necessary.
