Overview
Kiely Family of Companies, established in 1952, focuses on customer success and design-build capabilities in engineering and construction. The Steel Foreman position involves the installation and maintenance of natural gas pipelines, requiring teamwork and a commitment to high ethical standards.
Responsibilities
- Dig trenches and install natural gas steel pipelines.
- Backfill excavations with asphalt.
- Enter and exit excavations varying in depth from 2’ to 5’.
- Shovel dirt, rake dirt or hot asphalt, and jackhammer roadways or sidewalks.
- Carry materials or equipment to and from the truck to a jobsite.
- Use a chop saw to cut concrete and a hammer drill to core through concrete foundations.
- Enter basements or crawlspaces to perform necessary pipefitting or meter service work.
- Perform basic pipe fitting with pipe sizes from ½” to 2”.
- Tap and stop off water or gas service tees from the main line.
- Perform numerous push/pull activities associated with underground construction work.
- Complete additional safety sensitive duties as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years construction site experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to operate a variety of simple and complex tools.
- Must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Heavy construction equipment experience highly desirable.
