Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment and facility infrastructure in a regulated environment while adhering to safety standards. The role requires hands-on maintenance experience and a strong understanding of safety around hazardous materials and regulated systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment such as electrical motors, compressors, and process equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and instrumentation systems to avoid downtime.
- Assist senior mechanics and engineers on complex systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building operating systems including plumbing, HVAC, and electrical wiring.
- Assist with upkeep of piping systems and participate in equipment installations and facility modifications.
- Follow OSHA, EPA, and company EH&S policies, including use of PPE and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Operate lifting and maneuvering equipment in accordance with handling procedures.
- Collaborate with Operations, EHS, and Engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and safety.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and safety systems.
- Identify risks and take corrective action.
- Document maintenance activities and support compliance records.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Technical certification or trade training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a chemical, manufacturing, industrial, or processing environment.
- Working knowledge of pumps, valves, piping, mechanical equipment, and electrical systems.
- Welding, forklift operation, equipment rigging, and carpentry skills preferred.
- Familiarity with hazardous materials handling and process safety practices.
- Knowledge of CMMS systems for maintenance tracking preferred.
- Ability to read P&IDs, schematics, and technical manuals preferred.
- OSHA certifications or safety training in LOTO and confined space preferred.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment and follow instructions.
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.

- Work performed in a chemical manufacturing plant environment.

- May require shift work, overtime, or on-call support for critical operations.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work at heights.
