Overview
As a Welder/Fabricator at T E C Industrial in Greenville, South Carolina, you will be responsible for laying out, fitting, and welding various components to assemble structural forms according to blueprints and welding knowledge. The role requires expertise in welding techniques and safety practices in an industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components.
- Select equipment and perform layout, assembly, and welding.
- Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them for welding.
- Assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
- Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
- Set and adjust welding machines according to materials used.
- Identify and resolve hazards associated with assignments.
- Work with blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
- Check work to ensure it meets code and specifications.
- Perform basic rigging practices and follow OSHA safety standards.
- Safely use hand and power tools and adhere to safety policies.
- Monitor and maintain building systems as assigned.
- Execute various minor construction projects as required.
- Maintain equipment and clean around workstations.
- Interface with supervisors to provide progress updates.
- Work outdoors and in tight spaces, including elevated work.
Requirements
- Certified Welder (MIG, TIG, Stick) with SCBA respirator experience.
- Ability to pass Client welding certification for various materials.
- Experience in an industrial chemical environment preferred.
- Must be able to perform basic rigging practices.
- Valid, unrestricted motor vehicle operator's license.
- Ability to operate a standard desktop computer keyboard.
