Overview

National Electrostatics Corp. (NEC) is a leader in manufacturing electrostatic ion beam accelerator systems, serving customers globally. The Tig Welder role involves fabricating and welding metal components for these systems in a full-time, on-site position in Middleton, Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, weld, and assemble metal components used in accelerator systems.
  • Follow engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Prepare materials and set up welding equipment.
  • Perform high-quality TIG welds on various metals.
  • Inspect finished work for dimensional accuracy and adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and other production staff.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist with troubleshooting or rework as needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in welding processes and production efficiency.

Requirements

  • Strong TIG welding skills with experience in precision components.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with metal fabrication processes for stainless steel and other alloys.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Attention to detail and quality in producing high-accuracy welds.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification or technical training is beneficial.
  • Prior experience in a high-tech or precision manufacturing environment is a plus.
