Overview
National Electrostatics Corp. (NEC) is a leader in manufacturing electrostatic ion beam accelerator systems, serving customers globally. The Tig Welder role involves fabricating and welding metal components for these systems in a full-time, on-site position in Middleton, Wisconsin.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate, weld, and assemble metal components used in accelerator systems.
- Follow engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Prepare materials and set up welding equipment.
- Perform high-quality TIG welds on various metals.
- Inspect finished work for dimensional accuracy and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and other production staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with troubleshooting or rework as needed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in welding processes and production efficiency.
Requirements
- Strong TIG welding skills with experience in precision components.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with metal fabrication processes for stainless steel and other alloys.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to OSHA and company safety standards.
- Attention to detail and quality in producing high-accuracy welds.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification or technical training is beneficial.
- Prior experience in a high-tech or precision manufacturing environment is a plus.
