Overview

The Aluminum Welder plays a crucial role in the manufacturing and fabrication industries by joining metal parts together using various welding techniques, ensuring the structural integrity and quality of the final product.

Responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
  • Measuring and cutting metal components
  • Welding metal parts
  • Inspecting and testing welds
  • Maintaining welding equipment
  • Complying with all OSHA and safety procedures

Requirements

  • AWS (American Welding Society) certification preferred
  • Tube and Tank welding experience preferred
  • MIG/TIG welding for aluminum
  • Able to drive a forklift when necessary
  • Ability to read and fabricate products from design or specification documents
  • Mechanical skills
  • Math skills for accurate measuring and design of products/solutions
  • Ability to perform tasks under time pressure deadlines
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Internal weld test required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent level of training
  • Minimum 3-5 years of welding experience, with at least 2 years specializing in aluminum using TIG and MIG methods in a manufacturing setting
  • One or more years of experience in general labor
