The Welder position at Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems involves producing quality work in welding processes for naval gas and hybrid power systems. The company, DRS Marlo Coil, specializes in manufacturing heat transfer and air handling equipment for various markets, including the U.S. Navy.

Responsibilities

• Produce quality work to prescribed standards with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Follow written work instructions and work under minimal supervision.
• Adapt procedures and techniques to meet special needs.
• Communicate effectively with other functional departments.
• Resolve questions and problems, referring complex issues to higher levels.
• Serve as a resource for resolving complex problems.
• Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety procedures.
• Perform various welding processes on applicable metals.
• Weld with proficiency to meet various codes and specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and NDE symbols.
• Perform visual inspections of weldments for compliance.
• Conduct daily and weekly maintenance on all equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to perform MIG and TIG welding on various metals.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
