Overview

This position operates welding equipment and performs moderate to complex fabrication tasks for prototype and production parts.
Responsibilities
- Sets up, operates, and troubleshoots all welding equipment while using required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Performs manual wire feed (MIG) welding.
- Performs manual Heliarc (TIG) welding.
- Conducts spot welding.
- Programs and troubleshoots automated welding equipment.
- Handles parts finishing.
- Operates material handling equipment.
- Trains less experienced welders.
- Works closely with Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering on prototype welding projects.
- Fabricates items used in the facility and provides technical support for Tooling.
- Produces and inspects production parts to maintain quality standards.
- Completes all required documentation to comply with policies and procedures.
- Promotes established safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Performs routine total preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Safely routes parts using material handling equipment.
- Ensures a neat and organized workstation and effective communication in a multi-shift organization.
- Engages in department continuous improvement efforts and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Must possess basic to moderate computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to perform math calculations with an understanding of decimal/fraction equivalence.
- Able to read job-related blueprints and develop work instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to inspect assigned work using precision measuring equipment.
- Completed proper material handling testing requirements.
- Must be able to identify all tools and material types.
- Must be able to troubleshoot problems to achieve permanent resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and resources effectively.
- Generally requires at least 2-3 years of relevant welding experience.

- This position operates on a weekend shift.
