Overview

CITGO Petroleum Corporation is a leader in the refining industry, operating under the CITGO brand with three refineries and numerous terminals. The Mechanic Helper position is based in Cicero, Illinois, supporting Mechanics with hands-on training and progressing to the Mechanic classification after two years.

Responsibilities

• Assist Mechanics with the repair and maintenance of pumps, meters, transfer lines, and packaging equipment.
• Support electrical troubleshooting and repairs on plant equipment as needed.
• Operate and monitor the water treatment plant in accordance with established procedures.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on plant equipment.
• Maintain facility buildings and grounds to support a safe work environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma with 5-7 years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting, OR a Technical Degree with at least 2 years of maintenance experience.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Must be available to work overtime, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to climb ladders and work at elevated heights.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in enclosed spaces.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow directions, diagrams, and blueprints.
• Must successfully complete background screening and medical examinations.
• Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).

Additional Information

• Starting Rate: $37.75 per hour
• Progression to Mechanic classification with a rate of $45.52 per hour after two years.
