Overview
Samaritan's Purse is seeking Construction Workers to join their Rebuild team in San Angelo, Texas, to help rebuild communities impacted by natural disasters. This role involves constructing and repairing homes while sharing the love of Jesus Christ with volunteers and homeowners.
Responsibilities
- Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him.
- Work jointly with the Project Superintendent, Construction Foremen, and Logistics Coordinators to construct and/or repair homes.
- Work with and lead volunteers.
- Work with other construction workers and hired subcontractors when needed.
- Ensure the quality of each project is maintained to the highest possible standard.
- Provide safety training and general project training for team members at the job site.
- Maintain security of all materials and equipment at job sites.
- Ensure quality and adherence to Samaritan's Purse policies from hired subcontractors.
- Inspect all jobs, ensuring work is performed per federal, state, and local laws and codes.
- Communicate and minister to homeowners and partners, keeping them informed of the team's work and projected needs.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- One-year certificate from college or technical school and six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to obtain a drivers medical card (required).
- Trade certifications (electrical, plumbing, roofing, framing, and finish carpentry) (preferred).
- Class A Commercial Drivers License (preferred).
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of residential home construction.
