Overview

General Atomics Systems Integration, LLC (GA-SI) is a provider of military and commercial engineering services, specializing in systems integration technologies. The Airframe & Powerplant Manager oversees the maintenance, modification, troubleshooting, overhaul, and repair of airframe and powerplant systems on remotely piloted air vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance to subordinates based on organizational goals and company policy.
  • Supervises and trains subordinates who provide mechanical support and troubleshooting for air vehicles.
  • Monitors and schedules testing and inspection at the system level to ensure flight safety.
  • Acts as the primary interface with other departments to ensure production delivery and flight test schedules are met.
  • Coordinates activities with engineering, manufacturing, and quality departments to ensure proper configurations.
  • Ensures efficient support of Company and customer schedules through deployments of personnel.
  • Develops and maintains appropriate procedures for training and flight line operations.
  • Seeks methods to improve product quality, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Ensures accurate time charging and inspects work in progress and finished products.
  • Manages and participates in the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of human resources.
  • Observes all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations while conducting business.
  • Leads the workplace in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a related technical field and six or more years of progressive professional experience in manufacturing.
  • Must demonstrate a detailed understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Must be customer-focused and possess the ability to identify issues and develop solutions.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills are required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of employees.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to initiate, plan, and manage projects.
  • Strong computer skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work independently and lead in a team environment is essential.
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel is required.
