Overview

USIC is a leader in underground utility damage prevention and advanced infrastructure services, looking for outdoor enthusiasts to join their Advanced Gas Operations division as Gas Locate Technicians. This role involves independent field work to locate and mark gas lines, ensuring public safety and infrastructure protection.

Responsibilities

  • Use locating equipment to determine the location of gas lines and mark the area with paint and flags.
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of underground utility infrastructure.
  • Follow all company, client, state, and federal damage prevention guidelines.
  • May locate other utilities in addition to gas lines depending on the project.

Requirements

  • Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
  • Ability to travel locally during the business day; some out-of-area or overnight travel may be expected.
  • Able to pass a drug screen.
  • Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods on varying types of terrain; bend and stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.
  • Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.
  • Proficiency with technology.
  • Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, maps, and prints; possess basic math skills to calculate distances.
  • Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.

Additional Information

  • These are daytime, full-time positions.
  • Must be able to work overtime, weekend shifts, and on-call shifts.
  • 100% paid training starting on the first day.
