Overview
The Operations Labor position involves various tasks related to material handling, maintenance, and housekeeping to ensure a safe and organized work environment. The role requires physical labor and attention to detail in managing materials and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Unload pallets, boxes, and bundles.
- Handle and sort materials by pushing, pulling, picking, lifting, carrying, and filling up hoppers, boxes, and conveyor belts.
- Unpack boxes using box cutters and separate packaging materials.
- Disassemble small equipment, cut wires, torque pipe fittings, and remove bolts and parts.
- Work with recycling equipment for processing metal products.
- Direct traffic of yard vehicles traveling through the yard.
- Perform light facility maintenance including painting and moving furniture.
- Select and use tools properly for machinery maintenance and repair.
- Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, cleaning, shoveling, and collecting debris.
- Conduct moderate and periodic landscaping work.
- Clean up the work area at the end of the shift.
- Keep work areas neat and orderly.
- Ensure regular attendance and punctuality.
- Organize materials for effective use of space.
- Dispose of waste materials appropriately.
- Inspect to ensure cleanup is completed.
- Maintain effective housekeeping for safety and hygiene.
