Overview
The Pipe Welder CC/SS Journeyman position involves planning, laying out, welding, installing, testing, and repairing various types of pipes and tubular products according to industry standards and specifications. The role requires a skilled individual capable of working independently with a high degree of precision.
Responsibilities
- Plan, diagram and lay-out for pipe welder’s work
- Coordinate with field labor crew for efficient installations
- Position the weld set up, fit the piping and perform welds involving a high degree of precision independently
- Lay-out and assemble pipes accurately according to production standards and specifications
- Make welding repairs and correct substandard welds
- Assist with coordination of any Pre-Fabrication layout or installation
- Assist with rigging of material
- Operate industry machines, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently
- Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities for work activities
- Inspect subordinate's work for compliance and take corrective action as needed
Requirements
- May require a high school diploma or equivalent with previous experience in the field
- Must possess strong working knowledge and skills for the position
- Ability to understand and communicate written and oral instructions effectively
- Proficient in the safe and efficient use of various tools and equipment
Additional Information
- Constantly move about a construction/industrial site and work in various positions
- Work in changing outdoor weather conditions
- Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
- May need to use ladders and scaffolds to access work areas
- Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
- May need to move items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must have all required tools
- Must pass weld test with quality
- U.S. Driver's License may be required
- Must pass pre-access drug, alcohol and fit-for-duty testing
