Overview

The Pipe Welder CC/SS Journeyman position involves planning, laying out, welding, installing, testing, and repairing various types of pipes and tubular products according to industry standards and specifications. The role requires a skilled individual capable of working independently with a high degree of precision.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, diagram and lay-out for pipe welder’s work
  • Coordinate with field labor crew for efficient installations
  • Position the weld set up, fit the piping and perform welds involving a high degree of precision independently
  • Lay-out and assemble pipes accurately according to production standards and specifications
  • Make welding repairs and correct substandard welds
  • Assist with coordination of any Pre-Fabrication layout or installation
  • Assist with rigging of material
  • Operate industry machines, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities for work activities
  • Inspect subordinate's work for compliance and take corrective action as needed

Requirements

  • May require a high school diploma or equivalent with previous experience in the field
  • Must possess strong working knowledge and skills for the position
  • Ability to understand and communicate written and oral instructions effectively
  • Proficient in the safe and efficient use of various tools and equipment

Additional Information

  • Constantly move about a construction/industrial site and work in various positions
  • Work in changing outdoor weather conditions
  • Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
  • May need to use ladders and scaffolds to access work areas
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
  • May need to move items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must have all required tools
  • Must pass weld test with quality
  • U.S. Driver's License may be required
  • Must pass pre-access drug, alcohol and fit-for-duty testing
