Overview
The Welder/Fabricator position involves performing layout, fabrication, and MIG welding with minimal supervision. The role requires interpreting drawings, preparing metals, and ensuring quality standards are met while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Responsibilities
- Interpret simple to difficult drawings, sketches and/or work from samples and instruction.
- Clean, cut and prepare various metals for welding.
- Set-up and perform MIG welding on items for customer products.
- Safely operate various pieces of equipment such as the saw, cutting torch, presses, and brakes to produce sub-assemblies.
- Produce acceptable work that meets or exceeds all Quality Control Standards.
- Requisition welding supplies to maintain an uninterrupted flow of welded product.
- Safely operate various forms of material handling equipment such as hoists, cranes, and tow motors.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
- Exhibit interpersonal skills sufficient to perform as an active team member.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required by company management.
Requirements
- Must have high school diploma or acceptable equivalent.
- Must be able to obtain welding certification within six months of hiring date.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Able to safely handle various forms of material handling equipment such as hoists and cranes.
- Requires attention and care to prevent injury to self and others when performing work.
- Ability to use various measuring tools.
- 1 – 3 years welding experience preferred.
