Overview

National Strand, part of the Metals Processing Group and owned by The Heico Companies, LLC, produces steel wire and cable-related products. The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, installing, troubleshooting, and modifying industrial equipment while ensuring safety and cleanliness in the work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting functions in a manufacturing environment.
  • Work with high voltage systems.
  • Handle DC circuits.
  • Utilize PLC knowledge as a plus.
  • Manage industrial controls including panels, relays, switches, and wiring.
  • Read, interpret, and follow electrical diagrams and schematics.
  • Troubleshoot and repair rotating equipment.
  • Execute preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Work with pneumatics and pneumatic controls and components.
  • Inspect equipment and communicate effectively with peers and managers.
  • Weld using MIG and/or Stick.
  • Use various tools for electrical testing and mechanical tasks.
  • Follow safety instructions and LOTO procedures.
  • Learn quickly to operate equipment for testing and assurance.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area and equipment.
  • Read, interpret, and follow mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams and schematics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is desired.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • High School Diploma required; Technical School Certifications preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office and other support software.
