Overview
Boeing's Millennium Space Systems is seeking a Mechanical Technician Senior for their second shift in El Segundo, California. The role involves supporting the fabrication, integration, and testing of space flight systems and equipment, contributing to national security missions.
Responsibilities
- Assembles, installs, tests, checks out and inspects mechanical spacecraft assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications.
- Performs second party verifications and visually inspects mechanical assemblies to drawings and specifications.
- Operates various materials handling equipment including forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Operates a wide range of machine tools including drill presses and grinders.
- Interfaces with Design and Manufacturing Engineering on procedural issues.
- Supports in other mechanical areas as defined by leadership.
- Cross-trains and mentors new hires.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- More than 5 years of experience with Structures Assembly, Mechanical Assembly, Electrical Assembly, and/or Final Assembly.
- More than 3 years of experience following written and verbal work instructions.
- More than 3 years of experience in working with blueprints, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures.
- More than 3 years of experience in setting and using precision measuring tools.
- More than 3 years of experience working with materials like Adhesives, Composites, and Epoxy.
- Ability to stand and move to handle products for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting 20lbs or more on a frequent basis.
