Overview
The Maintenance Mechanic position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting in a three-shift manufacturing operation. This role ensures that plant equipment is maintained for maximum efficiency and cost reduction.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and correct equipment.
- Perform electrical, plumbing, pneumatic and hydraulic tasks.
- Perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment in a thorough and safe manner.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management.
- Train production employees and other mechanics, and be willing to be trained by others.
- Work weekends or overtime with short notice if needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred minimum two years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- General knowledge of maintenance functions such as electrical, plumbing, conveyors, motors/gearboxes.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
- Electrical troubleshooting knowledge of 3 phase 480VAC, control circuits of 110VAC and 24DC.
- Welding skills with TIG and stick.
- Ability to use cutting tools like torch, band saw, grinder, and plasma cutter.
- Fabrication skills for simple guards, covers, and catch pans.
- Knowledge of power drills, drill press, mill, and lathe machines.
Additional Information
- This is a plant level maintenance position.
- Physical demands include pushing, pulling, bending, and standing for the entire shift.
- Tasks may require lifting, pulling, and climbing of machinery and tooling.
- Work in high ambient temperatures.
